Education should be Value-promoting, not dehumanizing : Chief Minister

Karanthur: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has said here at Karanthur on Tuesday, that every educational institute should strive to promote humanitarian values, not declining to spread dehumanizing ideas of communalism
and disgust of other faiths and cultures. He was addressing a public gathering conducted at Markaz Convention Centre in order to accord him grand reception. In a multi-cultural society like India, preserving the core values of secularism through education is as inevitable as keeping up tenets of our nation. Thus, he stressed that any attempt to inject poison of communalism and fanaticism to the innocent minds of our children should be condemned and opposed at every cost. He added that the managements should always be vigilant to using of drugs and alcoholic products within the walls of campus, and to keep students away from being agents of their nation-wide mafia. Through treating the process of education as better profitable means, some are trying to lose the essence of knowledge and the values it always upholds, he noted. CM inaugurated the new block of its Boys Higher secondary school at Karanthur.
Kanthapuram A. P Abubaker Musliyar, general Secretary of Jamia Markaz presided over the function and seyyid Zainul Abideen Thangal led the prayer.
