Those at the Centre should concern minority communities – H D Deve Gowda

On Thursday, 24, November, Markaz warmly welcomed former Prime Minister H. D. Deve Gowda, conducting a massive reception ceremony at its Convention Hall. We, the entire faculty, students and other staffs at Markaz
were much pleased to accord him a jubilant welcome for his second visit to the campus as well as the first one which happened during his term as Prime Minister. Speaking at the function for more than 30 minutes, Mr Gowda shared some valuable messages with the students and reflected his notions concerning the critical plights that the country has been presently caught up in at large, especially that of demonetisation. He added that any attempts to destroy the secular and pluralistic ambiance of the country should be opposed and contemned at any cost. Emphasizing that institutes like Markaz where the lessons of solidarity and coexistence are taught to large number of students from all major religion, castes and underprivileged communities can shape the future of India, he noted that those at the Center should draw their attention to the multi-dimensional matters of minority communities, particularly matters concerning their education . Our chancellor Sheikh Abubaker Ahmed, Vice Chancellor Dr. Hussein Saqafi Chullikkode, General Manager C. Muhammed Faizi led the reception ceremony. Many prominent personalities including Mr Krishnan Kutty, Lohya, Adv. Safarullah, Adv. Nisar Ahmed and state leaders of Janadadal had accompanied him
